It’s Election Season for IPMS/USA!

IPMS/USA holds Executive Board elections every two years. The Eboard wants to be sure that anyone interested in running for office is fully informed as to what is expected of each officer. We also want our members to know what the candidates for the Eboard plan to do for the Society if elected, as well as why the candidate feels they are qualified to serve as an Eboard member. Here are some pointers on how to get on the ballot, what each officer position does, how much of your time it will take to do each job, and what the members need to know to vote for you.

Code Of Ethics

The official policy of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society - U.S.A. (IPMS/USA©) is to uphold the highest legal, ethical, and moral standards where even the appearance of wrongdoing is indefensible. Our members and volunteers support IPMS/USA because they trust us to be good stewards of their resources and to uphold rigorous standards of conduct. Our reputation for integrity and excellence requires a scrupulous regard for the highest standards of conduct and personal integrity.

New Officers Announcement

As you probably have read, Dave Lockhart has resigned from the role of President as of October 31, 2023.  In accordance with the duties of the First Vice President, I accepted the role of President until the end of the next term.

To replace me in my previous position I nominated John Noack to once again take on the responsibilities of the First Vice President.  He accepted and the Eboard approved his appointment.

To IPMS/USA Members

Effective Oct 31st, I will be resigning as president of IPMS/USA.  While this has been a difficult decision for me, I have though on this for a while and feel it would be best for myself and IPMS/USA.  While I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the past two years.  There have been situations out of my control and others where I should have displayed more control.  Perhaps my leadership skills are not what is needed now.

My days of tilting at windmills are over and I’m looking forward to getting back to the joy of building models.
